Hot off the wire, Bulletproof InfoTech announced as a finalist for this year’s Microsoft IMPACT awards.

What does this mean for those in need of a computer repair, IT service or computer consulting firm in Red Deer, Calgary and throughout Alberta?

Many small businesses right here in Alberta run computer networks which are built on Microsoft solutions at their core.  Businesses use Microsoft Exchange, Windows Server, SharePoint, SQL Server and a wide range of technologies to run their business and to ensure they are productive.  Whether it is Windows XP or Vista computers, Office 2007 or an accounting solution built on Microsoft Dynamics, having the right IT partner in your corner is a needed asset for a number of companies.

Your business must have a computer support firm you can trust.  A firm who puts your business needs first and a firm who understands where you are today and where you need to get to.  This is not a “nice to have” it is the cornerstone to business success.  Information Technology systems can make your break your business.  When you have the right system, your team is productive, staff are happy and revenues increase.  When you make the wrong decision you will see an alarming increase in expenses, a revolving door of people and lost opportunities.

Even the best hard drives will fail

What is your Alberta small business doing to protect your business data?

Some interesting numbers were released this week on the costs associated with “loss of data” in small business and what your business can to protect one of your most critical assets?  Sales databases, your accounting records, proposals, pictures and general business information is being stored on servers, computers, laptops and other devices across small business, however what is the risk to your business if one day, all of your key information was gone?

What shocked us the most about these numbers from Western Digital was the pure cost and time to recover or recreate 20 MB of engineering data.  In the research, the average small engineering firm can spend almost $100,000 to get back 20 MB of information and take approximately 42 days.   Many times small business owners simply look at the cost of a strategic backup and recovery solution and fail to look at the overall expense to their business when (not if) something goes wrong.  The costs can skyrocket out of control, but it doesn’t have to.

Have you ever lost information on your computer and had to recreate it?  The reality is you never get the information back to the original form whether it is drawings, excel spreadsheets, sales databases, accounting information or a critical proposal which is due out tomorrow for one of your best clients.  Besides the costs and time associated with data loss, what about the risk to your business reputation?

There are a number of business right here in Calgary, Red Deer and throughout Alberta who are not taking care of their business information properly, they lack proper backup and disaster avoidance strategies and when a disaster strikes, have no idea what to do next.  Not to worry, Bulletproof InfoTech has a plan for you.  Every server and network we look after has strategies in place to protect your information and get your business up and running fast.  To learn more about how we do this visit our backup and disaster avoidance page to learn more.
