To fight the Conficker virus, it is extremely critical that all computers, laptops and removable storage devices have critical security updates applied and are virus-free.
- This can be done by following the instructions below, Use the links below to download and install Microsoft vulnerability patches. (Please select the one that corresponds to your operating system). Please ensure that you run both patches.

- Download and install the Microsoft Malware Removal Tool.

- Run the ‘Malware Removal Tool in ‘Quick Scan’ mode. (You can download and run the Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool if your computer is running Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows XP or Windows 2000).
- If prompted, please run a ‘Full Scan’ after the ‘Quick Scan’ has finished.
NOTE: It is highly recommended that removable storage devices (Flash Drives, External HDDs, SD cards etc.) are also scanned. Please run the ‘Customized Scan’ and select the drives you want to scan.
